Kris Perez is a sophomore at Ohio University majoring in journalism. He was born and raised in Pickerington, Ohio, but his parents are both from the Dominican Republic. Kris has worked on the culture staff for The Post covering the local music scene in Athens and is currently working towards growing his own online music publication, The Indie Sound. As a member of SHN, he hopes to communicate the importance of diversity and acceptance for Hispanic students at Ohio University.
Marisa Fernandez is a junior at Ohio University. She is passionate about the current world we live in as well as the admiration for the past. She has a love for entertainment, whether it’s movies, music or trending Twitter wars. She stays up past her bedtime to watch late night talk shows with her roommate.

Cristina is a sophomore studying journalism at the E.W. Scripps College of Communication. She loves hearing and telling stories, especially ones that highlight people. Last year, she traveled with a group of journalism students to Argentina and profiled a local who has worked at River Plate Soccer Stadium for decades. She loves traveling and going on adventures whether that consists of road tripping to Chicago or hiking across campus to enjoy Nelson breakfast.

Natalie is a sophomore at Ohio University studying strategic communication. In addition to Scripps Hispanic Network, she is involved with PRSSA, ImPRessions, and Student Alumni Board. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, crafting, and reading.
Social Media Manager
Michael Rodriguez has proudly served in public broadcasting for over 20 years. As WOUB Public Media’s Director of Production Services and Student Development, he leads a team of very skilled multimedia production professionals. He also is the point person for more than 200 students who arrive at WOUB each year seeking practical experience in support of their academic classes. Michael enjoys engaging and challenging students at every level. He is proud of the many alumni that have moved on to high profile industry jobs.
Michael has directed, produced, written, and collaborated on numerous university and client related projects. He serves as Executive Producer for award-winning student programs – Hardwood Heroes & Gridiron Glory.
Michael currently resides in Athens, Ohio. He is originally from New Mexico – The Land of Enchantment. He holds a Masters of Public Administration degree from Ohio University and a Bachelors degree from New Mexico State University. Michael is active in community service events around the region and highly values his time as a husband and parent to three children. He loves both green and red chile.
